Abstract:

Ženy zemědělkyně – jako hrdinky všedních dní. Takto jsou vykresleny v literatuře věnované historii zemědělství v Evropě. Tato práce ukazuje, jak byl jejich inovativní přínos k rozvoji zemědělství v minulosti zpomalen v důsledku převládajícího patriarchátu a vrhá nové světlo na blízký vztah mezi ženami coby pionýrkami v oboru zemědělství a jeho vývojem do současné ekologické podoby. Jednotlivé části této práce přispívají k celkovému pochopení důležitosti ženské role v ekologickém zemědělství a poukazují na diskriminaci žen, která zabraňuje rovnému přístupu k základním lidským potřebám a vede ženy k dožadování se výraznější sociální reformy.

Abstract:

Women farmers – the silent heroes of everyday life. That seems to be the message of agriculturally oriented literature on women farmers and the history of European agriculture. The World custom of patriarchy is shown to be a crucial mechanism inhibiting women’s innovative role in agriculture and sheds light on the fact that there is a close relationship between women pioneers and organic farming. The following parts of the thesis have contributed to understanding women's role in agriculture, how gender discrimination impedes access to necessary resources, and how women demand social change.
