ILUSTRATED CHILDREN´S BOOK

Abstract:

V této práci jsem ilustrovala dětskou knihu od Jana Zrzavého Jeníkovy pohádky. Ilustrace jsem zpracovala formou suché jehly a kolorovala je v programu Procreate na iPadu. Tuto knihu znám a mám ráda už od svého dětství, takže jako téma bakalářské práce to byla moje jasná volba. Hlubotisk jsem zvolila také díky tomu, že je to jedna ze starších technik, stejně jako tato kniha není z nejnovějších.

Abstract:

In this thesis, I chose to illustrate a children's book Jeníkovy pohádky by Jan Zrzavý, which was published in 1920. The illustrations were created with a dry needle and colored in the Procreates oft ware with an iPad. I have picked this book because it has been one of my favourites since childhood. I selected the dry needle technique and aluminium sheets, as it is one of the older methods; much like the book itself, which was written at the beginning of the 20th century. Therefore, I felt like this would be a good fit for the ancienit atmosphere of the fairy-tales. In the process, I focused on combining the old and modern methods, such as working with a graphics software. Moreover, this selection also combines manual and komputer techniques, which is most likely going to be more and more common in the future.
