CSR activities in the company Lush

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou udržitelnosti a zhodnocením CSR aktivit kosmetické společnosti Lush. Cílem práce je zjistit na základě analýzy CSR aktivit, zda se společnost Lush podílí na greenwashingu. Sekundárním cílem je porovnání výroční zprávy společnosti Lush se standardy GRI a směrnicí CSRD. První kapitola stručně představuje koncept společenské odpovědnosti firem CSR. Druhá kapitola se zabývá významností kosmetického průmyslu a udržitelnosti. Kapitola vysvětluje pojem greenwashing a představuje CSR aktivity, kterými může kosmetická společnost snížit svůj dopad na životní prostředí. Třetí kapitola se zaměřuje na CSR reporting a představuje standardy upravující odpovědné chování firem. Poslední kapitola je zaměřena na společnost Lush, dvojí analýzu významnosti, zhodnocení CSR aktivit a výroční zprávy společnosti Lush a porovnání s konkurenční společností The Body Shop.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of sustainability and CSR activities in the cosmetics company Lush. This thesis aims to find out whether Lush is involved in greenwashing by analysing its CSR activities. The secondary objective is to compare the company's annual report with GRI standards and CSRD guidelines. The first chapter briefly introduces the concept of CSR. The second chapter discusses the importance of the cosmetics industry and sustainability. The chapter explains the concept of greenwashing and introduces CSR activities that can be used by a cosmetics company to reduce its impact on the environment. The third chapter focuses on CSR reporting and presents the standards regulating responsible corporate behaviour. The last chapter focuses on the company Lush, a double materiality analysis, an assessment of Lush's CSR activities and its annual report, and a comparison with its competitor The Body Shop.
