The position of hotel chains in hospitality industry on example of Hilton Hotels

Abstract:

Během několika desetiletí globalizace je stále rozšířena ve všech odvětvích. Tento fenomén s neobvyklou rychlosti ovlivňuje i cestovní ruch, sledujéme nové trendy jako fúze, akvize nebo vytvoření velkých hotelových skupin. Z uvedených skutečností vyplývá důležitost a stálá aktuálnost problematiky. Bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou pozicí hotelových řetězců na trhu hotelnictví, prozkoumáním jejich podstaty. V teoretické části jsou objasněny pojmy souvísející s provozem hotelových řetězců, systém jejich fungování a komparace s nezávislými hotely. V praktické části provedena analýza cílových segmentů hotelových řetězců, sestaveny SWOT analýzy největších hotelových společnosti. Jako konkrétní příklad je vybrán hotel Hilton v Praze, představeno portfolio nabízených služeb. Na základě sestavené SWOT analýzy hotelu, dotazování zaměstnanců a klientů, předloženy možné návrhy a doporučení jak využivat přiležitosti a předcházet možným hrozbám.

Abstract:

Within a few decades globalization continues to be widespread in all sectors. This phenomenon affects tourism as well, we can follow such new trends such as acquisitions or creation of big hotel groups.Thus, we can see how this issue is important nowadays.This bachelor thesis project is focused on analyzing the current position of hotel chains on market. In the theoretical part are explained major terms related to the operation of hotel chains, system of their functioning and comparisons with independent hotels. In the practical part there is a description of the target segments of hotel chains, SWOT analysis of the largest hotel chains. As a specific example is chosen Hilton Hotel in Prague. Interviewing employees and clients there is the SWOT analysis of hotel, according to which suggestions and recommendations on how to exploit opportunities and avoid potential threats are provided.
