Sexting and education at high school

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the phenomenon of sexting; moreover, it states there is a need to educate students at high schools about this matter. The thesis is divided into theoretical part, research part and appendices. The theoretical part explains the term sexting and its definitions and reasons why people use sexting. Furthermore, it provides information about risks of sexting while numerous consequences of sexting are described on particular examples. In chapters 6 we discuss the role of school, teachers and parents in the process of educating students about sexting. The part about adolescents explains why this group of people is threatened by sexting. The research part deals with the creation of education materials for teachers to educate students of the second year of four-year high schools in the Slovak republic as well as the parents of students. Appendices provide education materials for both of these groups; furthermore, they also include PowerPoint presentations which can help the students and parents to better understand theoretical knowledge and the teachers to better explain theoretical facts during a lesson. The main aim of the bachelor’s thesis is to educate people about sexting and its risks with the use of education materials attached in appendices.

Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca rieši aktuálny fenomén sexting a taktiež zvýrazňuje potrebu šírenia informácií o jeho rizikách na stredných školách. Skladá sa z teoretickej časti, aplikačnej časti a príloh. Teoretická časť vysvetľuje pojem sexting, jeho rôzne definície a motivácie, ktoré k nemu ľudí vedú. Rozoberá riziká, ktoré so sebou prináša a rôzne následky dokumentuje nakonkrétnych prípadoch. V 6.kapitole sa vzhľadom napodstatu práce rieši úloha školy v procese osvety o sextingu a tiež funkcia učiteľa a rodičov. Časť o adolescentoch ukazuje, prečo je práve táto skupina sextingom veľmi ohrozená. Aplikačná časť vysvetľuje tvorbu výukových materiálov pre učiteľov na výuku žiakov druhého ročníka štvorročných stredných škôl v Slovenskej republike a ich rodičov. Prílohy tvoria výukové materiály pre obe cieľové skupiny, rovnako ako PowerPointové prezentácie, ktoré môžu pomôcť žiakom a rodičom lepšie pochopiť teóriu aučiteľom vysvetliť teoretické fakty. Primárnym cieľom tejto práce je informovať ľudí otéme sexting ašíriť osvetu, kčomu majú slúžiť aj vytvorené výukové materiály.
