Jan Vančura Katedra psychologie, FSS MU Rok: 2006 Stran: 47 Slov: 12177 Znaků s mezerami: 88 830 Posuzování soběstačnosti nemocných a handicapovaných je často zkoumáno především v nemocničním prostředí nebo u mentálně postižených, což je velmi specifické zaměření. Obvykle se také jedná o posuzování druhou osobou (lékařem, pečovatelem apod.). Tento výzkum je zaměřen na subjektivní vnímání vlastní soběstačnosti u konkrétního jedince a na to, jak percepce soběstačnosti ovlivňuje postoj postiženého k němu samému, jeho sebehodnocení a také jeho sociální fungování, navazování sociálních vztahů. Záměrem také bylo poukázat na nutnost vytvářet pro postižené takové podmínky, aby mohli uplatňovat své schopnosti v maximální možné míře, rozvíjet svou soběstačnost a tím uskutečňovat kontrolu nad svým životem. Cílem této práce bylo zjistit, zda handicapovaní nějakým způsobem spojují vnímání vlastní soběstačnosti se svým sebehodnocením, zda existuje vztah mezi subjektivním vnímáním soběstačnosti a celkovým sebehodnocením u fyzicky postižených osob, jimž zdravotní stav stěžuje vykonávání běžných každodenních činností jako je obstarání osobní hygieny, stravy, nákupu, úklidu domácnosti atp. Tato přehledová studie k tématům soběstačnosti a sebehodnocení osob s fyzickým handicapem nabízí odpověď na otázku, zda je snaha handicapovaných o zachování vlastní soběstačnosti pouze adaptací na zdravotní stav nebo toto zaměření má svůj základ hlouběji ve strukturách osobnosti jako součást self systému. Výzkumný soubor tvořili postižení, které jejich onemocnění omezuje v pohybu a kteří využívající péče blízké osoby, osobního asistenta nebo pečovatele. Tito handicapovaní jsou často nuceni využívat služeb druhých lidí při běžných životních úkonech a v souvislosti s tím jsou často konfrontováni se svými schopnosti, se svou soběstačností. Každý jedinec může mít svou individuální představu o tom, co je soběstačnost, a proto byl výzkum zaměřen na subjektivní vnímání vlastní soběstačnosti přímo handicapovanými. Při výzkumu byly použity dvě standardizované metody: pro měření globálního sebehodnocení Rosenbergova škála sebehodnocení (Self-Esteem Scale, M. Rosenberg, 1965), pro měření některých složek sebepojetí Fittsova škála sebepojetí Tennessee Self-Concept Scale: Second Edition TSCS:2 (W.H. Fitts, W.L. Warren, 1996). Pro posouzení subjektivního vnímání soběstačnosti u zkoumaných osob jsem na základě několika rozhovorů s lidmi s postižením a jejich volných asociací k pojmu soběstačnost zvolila relevantní položky do vlastního inventáře soběstačnosti. Přestože výzkum nepotvrdil pravdivost výzkumných hypotéz přímo, upozornil na další zajímavé jevy týkající se percepce soběstačnosti u handicapovaných, jejich sociálního fungování a toho, jak vnímají své možnosti. Původní výzkumné otázky, především ty, které se týkají souvislosti mezi sociálním sebepojetím a subjektivním vnímáním soběstačnosti, by bylo vhodné znovu prověřit na větším vzorku, případně jinými metodami.

Abstract:

Annotation The aim of the thesis was to determine if the handicapped people somehow link perception of their own self-reliance with their self-esteem, if there exists a relationship between the subjective perception of self-reliance and global self-esteem in persons with physical disabilities whose health considerably deteriorates managing their daily activities like personal hygiene, preparation of meals, shopping, cleaning the house, etc. This review study dealing with the topics of self-reliance and self-image of persons with physical disabilities offers the answer to the question if the effort of handicapped people to maintain their self-reliance is only an adaptation to their health condition or if this goal is based deeper in the structures of personality as part of the self-system. Assessment of self-reliance of patients and handicapped people is often made especially in hospitals or concerns persons with mental disabilities which is a very specific orientation. The assessment is usually made by another person (physician, carer, etc.). This research is focused on subjective perception of self-reliance by a specific individual and how the perception of self-reliance influences the attitude of the disabled person towards him/herself, his/her self-image and his/her social functioning and entering into social relations. The goal was also to point out the necessity to secure such conditions for the disabled to be able to apply their abilities to the maximum possible extent, to develop their self-reliance and thus to control their own lives. The sample included disabled people whose movement is restricted by their disease and who need care of a close relative, a personal assistant or a carer. These handicapped people often have to utilize the assistance of other people with common daily activities and in this context they are often confronted with their abilities, with their self-reliance. Every individual can have his/her individual idea about what self-reliance is and therefore the research focused on subjective perception of self-reliance by the handicapped people themselves. In the research two standardized methods were used: for measurement of global self-esteem it was the Rosenbergs Self-Esteem Scale (Self-Esteem Scale, M. Rosenberg, 1965), for measurement of some components of self-concept it was the Fitts self-concept scale Tennessee Self-Concept Scale: Second Edition - TSCS:2 (W. H. Fitts, W.L. Warren, 1996). For assessment of subjective perception of respondets self-reliance I selected relevant items into own inventory of self-reliance on the basis of several interviews with disabled people and their free associations connected with the concept of self-reliance. Although the research did not prove the correctness of the research hypotheses directly, it drew attention to other interesting phenomena concerning perception of self-reliance by handicapped people, their social functioning and how they perceive their possibilities. It would be suitable to verify the original research questions using a bigger sample or possibly using other methods. The results of the research could also be an inspiration for other research projects concerning handicapped people.
