This thesis focuses on the new translations of Jane Austen’s novels Northanger Abbey and Emma, recently published in the CooBoo classics edition. The analysis discusses the translators’ treatment of irony and free indirect discourse in these novels as the key elements of Jane Austen’s authorial narrative style.
