By examining various security measures, protocols, and strategies, the thesis aims to contribute to the development of proactive defences against cyber threats. The primary objective of the thesis is to conduct an in-depth analysis of computer network security, encompassing both technical and conceptual aspects. This analysis involves dissecting various types of vulnerabilities that malicious actors often exploit to launch cyber-attacks. The study encompasses a wide range of network architectures and attack vectors, offering insights into both current and emerging challenges in the realm of cybersecurity. Ultimately, this research endeavours to enhance the collective understanding of network security and foster the creation of effective countermeasures to safeguard against cyber-attacks of a company
