Potential use of selected autochthonous herbaceous perennials in landscape architecture

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce se zaměřuje na problematiku potenciálu vybraných autochtonních trvalek pro použití v krajinářské architektuře v souladu se soudobými trendy v oblasti využití rostlin. Zabývá se hodnocením sortimentu trvalek pěstovaných v tuzemských školkách a definuje podíl domácích druhů a jejich kultivarů (native cultivars) na celkovém sortimentu peren. Rekapituluje vývoj nabídky domácích druhů a jejich kultivarů v průběhu posledních dvaceti let a analyzuje jejich aktuální dostupnost v tuzemských školkách. Těžištěm práce je ověření dostupnosti diagnostických druhů vybraných mezofilních a xerofilních přírodních společenstev, která mohou být zdrojem inspirace pro krajinářskou tvorbu. U vybraných domácích druhů tolerujících suché a horké podmínky experimentálně ověřuje jejich školkařské parametry s ohledem na pěstování ze semene.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the potential use of autochthonous herbaceous perennials in landscape architecture according to the contemporary trends in planting design. The thesis deals with the evaluation of the herbaceous perennials range grown in Czech perennial nurseries and defines the contribution of the native species and their cultivars. It summarizes progress in availability of native species and their cultivars during last twenty years and it also analyses their current availability in Czech nurseries. The key point of the thesis lays in verification of availability of diagnostic species from selected mesophilic and xerophilic communities, which could be source of inspiration for landscape architecture. Another part of the thesis is experiment, which evaluates planting behaviour of chosen native species tolerant to dry and hot conditions in perennial nursery environment.
