Analysis of the benefits and negative impacts of breeding European fallow deer in the Bílé Karpaty

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je analýza přínosů a negativních dopadů chovu daňka evropského v prostředí Bílých Karpat. V této lokalitě byly porovnány dvě oblasti chovu. Jedna se nacházela v České republice a druhá na Slovensku. V každé oblasti byla vybrána jedna honitba k podrobnějšímu šetření za pomoci přímého sčítání čekanou, šoulačkou a jízdy motorovým vozidlem, kde byla u těchto metod použita termovize. Dále se zjišťovaly pomocí zkusných ploch škody vytloukáním a okusem. Byla zde využita analýza odstřelu k porovnání zvyšující se početnosti daňka a dosažených medailových hodnot. V práci je popsána charakteristika zájmového území, historie chovu v daných oblastech, stručný popis daňčí zvěře, metodiky přímého sčítání a škody způsobené daňčí zvěří. Bylo zde taky provedeno srovnání stavů zvěře srnčí a daňčí, a to pomocí jarního sčítání uživatele honitby za 5 let a odlovu zvěře od roku 2010 do 2022. K vypracování práce byla použita odborná konfrontace s mysliveckými hospodáři v oblastech chovu, odborná literatura, myslivecké články a katalogy z přehlídek loveckých trofejí.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyse the benefits and negative impacts of breeding European fallow deer in the environment of the Bílé Karpaty. Two breeding areas were compared in this locality. One was located in the Czech Republic and the other in Slovakia. In each area, one hunting ground was selected for a more detailed investigation using direct counts by chicane, scalpel and driving a motor vehicle, where thermal imaging was used for these methods. In addition, damage by browsing and gnawing was surveyed using plots. Blast analysis was used to compare the increasing abundance of fallow deer to the medal values achieved. The paper describes the characteristics of the area of interest, the history of breeding in the areas, a brief description of fallow deer, direct counting methodologies and damage caused by fallow deer. A comparison of roe deer and fallow deer numbers was also made, using a spring census of the hunting ground user over 5 years and the harvest of game from 2010 to 2022. Expert confrontation with hunting managers in the breeding areas, specialist literature, hunting articles and catalogues from hunting trophy shows were used to prepare the thesis.
