Woman´s character in medieval themes by Julius Zeyer

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá středověkými prozaickými texty Julia Zeyera a zejména jejich ženskými hrdinkami. Uvádí přehled názorů sekundární literatury na danou problematiku, všímá si výrazných středověkých evropských literárních ženských postav i Zeyerova vztahu k ženám z korespondence. Práce analyzuje soubor nejvýraznějších děl, uvádí základní specifika Zeyerových ženských postav, jejich formální a myšlenkový vývoj v kontextu autorovy tvorby a všímá si míry shod, či odlišností s evropskou tradicí.

Abstract:

This thesis is dealing with the medieval themes by Julius Zeyer, especially women´s character. The thesis brings a secondary literature review with medieval themes in Zeyer´s work. It also noticek woman´s character that is typical for European medieval literature and author´s relationships with women´s characters from Zeyer´s correspondence activities. The thesis adaptes the most important texts, it brings basic specifications of author´s woman´s character, their position in the general context of Zeyer´s publication and describes their identity or diference in European tradition.
