The business policy of banks in the field of bank charges in selected countries

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce „Obchodní politika bank v oblasti bankovních poplatků ve vybraných zemích" je analýza a komparace obchodní politiky bank v oblasti bankovních poplatků v České republice a Rakousku spolu s identifikací důvodů případných rozdílů, formulací konsekvencí a doporučení pro bankovní instituce a klienty bank v ČR. První část práce je úvodem do tématu a objasňuje teoretická východiska pro následnou analýzu. Druhá část je věnována konkrétním bankám, prostřednictvím nichž je provedeno porovnání v oblasti běžných účtů za pomoci informací z poskytnutých ceníků. Analýza a komparace je provedena u osmi bank působících na českém a rakouském bankovním trhu, a to vždy u poplatků vztahujících se k účtům vhodným pro tři různé segmenty klientů. V poslední části práce je uvedeno obecné srovnání a výsledná komparace napříč bankami působícími na českém i rakouském trhu a doporučení pro české bankovní instituce a jejich klienty.

Abstract:

The subject of the diploma thesis called „The Business Policy of Banks in the Field of Bank Charges in Selected Countries“ is the analysis and the comparison of the bank business policy in the field of bank charges in the Czech Republic and in Austria. The thesis identifies the reasons of the potential differences, it formulates the consuequences and it presents the recommendations for the bank institutions and for the clients in the Czech Republic. The first part of the thesis introduces the subject, it clarifies the theoretical bases for the subsequent analysis. The second part is devoted to the concrete banks which allow to make a comparison in the field of the current accounts with the aid of provided price lists. The analysis and the comparison are made among eight banks which function on the Czech and Austrian bank market. These tools are always used for the charges related to the accounts which are appropriate for three different segments of clients. In the last part of this work there is presented the general and final comparison across the banks functionning on the Czech and Austrian market as well as the recommendation for the Czech bank institutions and their clients.
