Influence of stand density on yield and quality of sugar beet

Abstract:

Cílem mé diplomové práce bylo posoudit vliv sníženého počtu rostlin cukrovky na technologickou kvalitu cukrovky. V roce 2019, 2020 byly provedeny provozní pokusy na polích Moravskoslezských cukrovarů, závodu Opava s uměle proředěným počtem rostlin cukrovky v nepravidelném sponu 1-0-1-0-0-1-0-1-0-0-1, který reprezentoval cca 40-60 000 jedinců na ha. Umělé proředění snížením počtů jedinců rostlin cukrovky bylo provedeno koncem května před zakrytím řádků. Porost byl sklizen koncem září. U sklizených rostlin byly stanoveny tyto parametry: počet jedinců/ha, hmotnost bulev, hmotnost chrástu. V laboratoři byla stanovena cukernatost, , Na a K. Výsledky pokusu ve 2 letech na 6 pokusných stanovištích a stejných lokalitách potvrzují negativní vliv nižší hustoty porostu na výnos bulev a také na výnos polarizačního cukru z hektaru. V rámci jednotlivých stanovišť byly významné rozdíly. Kvalita bulev různou hustotou porostu ale ovlivněna nebyla.

Abstract:

The aim of the work was to assess the impact of reduced number of sugar beet on the technological quality of sugar beet. In 2019 and 2020, operational trials were carried out on the fields of the Moravian-Silesian sugar factories in Opava, with an artificial reduction of sugar beet plants in the irregular clasp 1-0-1-0-0-1-0-1-0-0-1, which represented approx. 40-60 000 plants per ha. Decrease in the number of sugar beet plants was done at the end of May before covering the rows. The growth was harvested at the end of September. For harvested plants, the following parameters were established: number of inviduals/ha, weight of the roots, the weight of the tops. In the laboratory the technological properties of the roots were then determined: the sugar content, αN, Na and K. The results of the experiment in 2 years at 6 experimental sites and the same sites confirm the negative effect of lower density of the crop on the yield of the roots, as well as on the yield of polarizing sugar per hectare. There were significant differences within the different habitats. However, the quality of the roots was not affected by the different density of the crop.
