Optimization of the capital structure of selected companies from the textile industry

Abstract:

Obsahově je práce zaměřena na prokázání teoretických i praktických znalostí v oblasti optimalizace kapitálové struktury společnosti. V teoretické části vymezí student za použití odborné literatury pojem kapitálová struktura a její optimalizace, při čemž se bude detailněji věnovat problematice finanční páky. Praktickou část práce tvoří částečně finanční analýza a komparace pěti společností ze stejného oboru, při níž bude kladen důraz na nákladovou stranu financování a možný dopad na rentabilitu společností z hlediska možného vývoje nákladů ve výkazu zisku a ztrát. Data budou čerpána z přílohy účetních závěrek za období posledních pěti let, přičemž informace z výročních zpráv musejí korespondovat s prováděnou analýzou. Metodologicky bude student provádět jednak dílčí finanční analýzu, ale také porovná náklady na využití cizího a vlastního kapitálu a bude se věnovat problematice WACC.

Abstract:

In terms of content, the work is focused on demonstrating theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of optimizing the capital structure of the company. In the theoretical part, the student uses the literature to define the concept of capital structure and its optimization, while dealing in more detail with the issue of financial leverage. The practical part of the work consists partly of a financial analysis and comparison of five companies from the same field, which will emphasize the cost side of financing and the possible impact on the profitability of companies in terms of possible cost developments in the profit and loss statement. The data will be drawn from the notes to the financial statements for the last five years, while the information from the annual reports must correspond to the analysis performed. Methodologically, the student will perform a partial financial analysis, but also compare the cost of using foreign and equity capital and will address the issue of WACC
