Extreme musculaturing and it´s relationship to reproduction in livestock

Abstract:

Extrémní osvalení, jev charakterizovaný nadměrným nárůstem svalové hmoty u hospodářských zvířat, představuje významný problém v moderním zemědělství. Tento stav je způsoben genetickými mutacemi, zejména mutací genu myostatin. Tento výzkum se zaměřuje na analýzu dopadů extrémního osvalení na reprodukční schopnost hospodářských zvířat, zejména skotu, ovcí a prasat. Práce zahrnuje poznatky z vědeckých studí v průběhu let až po nejnovější studie. Výsledky naznačují, že extrémní osvalení negativně ovlivňuje jak samotný proces reprodukce, tak i zdraví a pohodu zvířat. Přítomnost tohoto jevu ve stádech může mít ekonomické důsledky pro zemědělské podniky, a proto je důležité se zaměřit na další výzkum zaměřený na možnosti prevence a managementu extrémního osvalení s ohledem na zachování reprodukční úspěšnosti a celkového zdraví hospodářských zvířat.

Abstract:

Extreme muscling, a phenomenon characterised by excessive muscle mass growth in livestock, is a significant problem in modern agriculture. This condition is caused by genetic mutations, in particular mutations in the myostatin gene. This research focuses on the analysis of the effects of extreme muscularity on the reproductive performance of livestock, in particular cattle, sheep and pigs. The work includes findings from scientific studies over the years up to the most recent studies. The results suggest that extreme muscling negatively affects both the reproductive process itself and the health and well-being of the animals. The presence of this phenomenon in herds can have economic consequences for farms, and it is therefore important to focus further research on the possibilities of preventing and managing extreme muscling with a view to maintaining reproductive success and overall livestock health.
