German Eastern Africe since the Resistance of Native Population until the End of the First World War

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměří především na oblast Německé východní Afriky v období zhruba od druhé poloviny 19. století do konce první světové války. Cílem této práce je na základě odborné literatury popsat a postihnout různé problémy a situace, které se v této oblasti objevily. Student se nejprve zaměří na problémy německé koloniální správy s místním obyvatelstvem a následně na způsob konečného vyřešení těchto problémů. Následně se bude věnovat průběhu bojů nepříliš početných německých koloniálních jednotek za první světové války, a to zejména proti britským a belgickým sborům. Svoji pozornost student zaměří i na některé jednotky a velící důstojníky zúčastněných stran, případně na jejich osudy a osud Německé východní Afriky jako takové po skončení války.

Abstract:

The Bachelor thesis is focused primarily on region of German East Africa in the period roughly from the second half of 19th century until the end of the First World War. The aim of this study, which is based on various types of literature, is to describe and express several problems and situations that have occurred in this area. First of all students attention will be focused on problems of German colonial administration with the local population. Also the student will focus his attention on method of the final solution of these problems After that student will focus on process of fighting battles by German colonial troops during the First World War, mostly against the British and Belgian forces. Lastly, student will focus his attention on some of the fighting units and commanding officers of interested countries or on their fates and fate of the German East Africa after the First World War.
