Measurements on a Lie Detector

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá sledováním změn fyziologických funkcí v návaznosti na vykonávaný pohyb. K měření je využit přístroj obecně známý pod pojmem detektor lži. Teoretická část práce shrnuje nejdůležitější poznatky z oblasti dokazování v trestním řízení a dále se zabývá věrohodností výpovědí a s ní související definicí pojmů jako je lež, pravda, polopravda, motivace ke lhavosti a možnost detekce lži. Teoretickou část práce uzavírá kapitola o detektoru lži a jeho praktickém využití v kriminalistice na území České republiky a ostatních evropských zemí. Praktická část práce je věnována již samotnému měření a jeho vyhodnocování. Cílem tohoto měření je zjistit, zda je možné využít detektor lži i během vykonávání základních pohybů, a přitom stále dosáhnout relevantních výsledků. Dílčím cílem diplomové práce je zjistit, jestli je možné rozeznat fyziologické projevy způsobené pohybem od změn vyvolaných emocemi.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the monitoring of changes in physiological functions in response to the performed movement. A device generally known as a lie detector is used for the measurement. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes important findings in the field of evidence in criminal proceedings and also deals with the credibility of statements and its related definitions such as lie, truth, half-truth, motivation to lie and the possibility of detecting lies. The theoretical part of the work concludes the chapter of a lie detector and its practical use in criminology in the Czech Republic and other European countries. The practical part of the work is devoted to the measurement itself and its evaluation. The aim of this measurement is to determine whether it is possible to use a lie detector even during basic movements, and still achieve the appropriate results. The partial goal of the diploma thesis is to find out whether it is possible to distinguish physiological manifestations caused by movement from changes caused by emotions.
