The Cooperative House Dělpe in Brno-Cejl

Abstract:

Družstevní dům s pekárnou Dělpe v Brně na Cejlu 83-85 z let 1924 až 1926, který byl postaven pro družstvo Dělnické pekárny, respektive potravní spolek Vzájemnost-Včela, je připisován dvojici architektů, Františku Václavkovi (1885 - 1964) a Eduardu Göttlicherovi (1892 - ?). O jejich díle a životních osudech, především však o Eduardu Göttlicherovi, toho není mnoho známo, práce se proto věnuje vedle stavby samotné také osobnostem obou architektů. Vedle shrnutí dosud známých poznatků, právě nová zjištění, byť fragmentárního charakteru, ukázala, že si architekt Göttlicher, který studoval na Akademii výtvarných umění ve Vídni v době, kdy zde působil mimo jiné Peter Behrens, zaslouží větší pozornost, než mu byla dosud věnována. Eduardu Göttlicherovi je společně s Františkem Václavkem připisována řada úspěšných soutěžních návrhů a realizací, otázkou však dosud zůstává poměr jejich vzájemné spolupráce a zda lze oddělit tvůrčí přínos každého z nich, a to i pokud se jedná o nájemní a obchodní dům s pekárnou Dělpe na Cejlu, kde se do značné míry uplatnil vliv německého expresionismu.

Abstract:

The Cooperative building with the Dělpe bakery in Brno in Cejl street 83-85 from the years 1924 – 1926, built by Dělpe - Workers' Bakery, Confectionery and Gingerbread Factory, or to be precise by food and consumer cooperative Vzájemnost-Včela, is attributed to architects František Václavek (1885 - 1964) and Eduard Göttlicher (1892 - ?). As there is little information about their architectural work and lives, especially about Eduard Göttlicher, the attention was focused not only on the building itself but also on personalities of both architects. Besides the summary of information and facts about them, the new findings, altough only partial, has pointed out that architect Göttlicher, who studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna at the same time when Peter Behrens was teaching there, is a truly remarkable figure who deserves more attention. Eduard Göttlicher cooperated with František Václavek and a range of competion designs and created projects date from the period of their cooperation, but there is still a question of their partnership, whether we can separate the creative contribution of them. This question concerns Cooperative apartment building with a Dělpe bakery in Cejl street where it is possible to recognise the influence of the German expressionism, as well.
