Episcopates of Olomouc and their bibliotheca in the light of catalogues of the early modern period

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Kroměřížská knihovna olomouckých biskupů ve světle raně novověkých rukopisných katalogů“ pojednává o Arcibiskupské zámecké knihovně v Kroměříži. Nejprve se věnuje osobě jejího zakladatele biskupa Karla II. Liechtenstein-Castelcorna, vzniku a založení knihovny. Poté ve stručnější a přehledné formě shrnuje více než třísetletou historii knihovny, se zřetelm na jednotlivé knihovníky, v ní působící, a katalogy, jež tito knihovníci zpracovali. Popisuje také změny, které nastaly před koncem roku 2006, aktuální situaci a nastiňuje i změny, které by měly nastat v blízké budoucnosti. Poté následuje kapitola, pojednávající o vzhledu interiéru zámecké knihovny, rozmístění a skladbě fondu v těchto prostorách. Nejdůležitější částí práce je soupis raně novověkých rukopisných katalogů, celkem jde o 18 svazků katalogů knihovny olomouckých biskupů. Nejprve jsou popsána pravidla utváření soupisu, poté následuje samotný soupis s podrobným popisem jednotlivých svazků, a v následující kapitole shrnutí poznatků ze soupisu vyplývajících.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis "Episcopates of Olomouc and their bibliotheca in the light of catalogues of the early modern period" deals with the Archbishop mansion library in Kroměříž. First the thesis deals with the person of the bibliotheca founder bishop Karl II. Lichtenstein-Castelcorna, and with the origin and foundation of the bibliotheca. Next the diploma thesis shortly and digestedly summarizes more than three hundred years old history of the bibliotheca, considering the particular librarians who worked there and considering the catalogues they worked up. This part of the thesis is also concerned with changes that occured at the end of 2006 and with present circumstances in the bibliotheca, and outlines changes that should occur in the near future. Next part of the thesis deals with the desing of the bibliotheca interior, with the location and structure of the bibliotheca collection, that is located in the interior. The most important part of the diploma thesis contains the list of manuscript catalogues of early modern period, in total it is 18 files of the bibliotheca catalogues. First there are described the rules of creation of the list, followed by the list alone, with the detailed description of particular files. Finally this part summarizes the findings resulting from the list.
