Objectification of supporting base of infants at the edge of third and fourth month

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá objektivizací opěrné báze kojenců na přelomu prvního a druhého trimenonu. Hlavním cílem práce bylo přispět k objektivizaci opěrné báze kojenců s využitím senzoru tlaku. Dalším cílem bylo vyhodnocení symetrie tlakového profilu kojence a lokalizace bodu maximálního tlaku pro horní končetiny a trup. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a výzkumnou část. Teoretická část práce představuje motorický vývoj dítěte v prvních dvou trimenonech a diagnostické metody pro posouzení fyziologického motorického vývoje kojence. Ve výzkumné části je zkoumána opora skupiny kojenců (n=28) v pronační pozici s využitím senzoru tlaku. Z výsledků vyplývá, že není rozdíl v zatížení horních končetin, což můžeme považovat za symetrickou oporu o horní končetiny. Statisticky signifikantní rozdíl byl prokázán v zatížení horních a dolních končetin, výrazně ve prospěch horních končetin. Při posouzení lokalizace bodu nejvyššího tlaku opory bylo zjištěno, že bod se na horních končetinách nachází na rozhraní mezi proximální a střední třetinou předloktí. Bod nejvyššího tlaku opory na trupu se nacházel v jeho kraniální třetině, což odpovídá kontaktu v oblasti dolních žeber kojence.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the objective quantification of the supporting base in infants from 2 to 4 months old. The main goal of this thesis was to contribute to the objective quantification of the supporting base in infants from 2 to 4 months old with the use of a pressure plate. Other goals were an evaluation of the symmetry of the pressure profile in infants and localization of the peak pressure point of the upper extremities and trunk. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and an experimental part. The theoretical part introduces the development of motor skills of infants up until the end of the sixth month. The theoretical part also introduces diagnostic methods for assessment of physiological motor development in infants. The experimental part examines the supporting base of a group of infants (n=28) in the prone position with the use of a pressure plate. The results did not show a difference in the weight bearing between the upper extremities, which can be concluded as symmetrical support. A statistically significant difference was found in weight bearing between the upper and lower extremities, namely the upper extremities were loaded more. It was found that the peak pressure point on the upper limbs is the point on the edge of proximal and middle third of the forearm. The peak pressure point of the trunk was localized in its upper third, which corresponds to the area of the lower ribs of the infant.
