Origin of the glimmerite from the hrubšice peridotite body

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá vyhodnocením základní petrologické charakteristiky a studiem původu souboru hornin, které se vyskytují při kontaktu náměšťského granulitového komplexu s menším tělesem hrubšického serpentinizovaného peridotitu a srovnáním těchto hornin pomocí několika typů analýz s glimmerity, horninami, které se vyskytují v Dolním Rakousku ve velmi podobném geologickém prostředí ve formě žil v peridotitech v blízkosti jejich kontaktu s velkými tělesy granulitů. Výsledky kombinace několika geologických metod jsou srovnávány s výsledky, jež prezentuje Becker et al. (1999). Terénní gamaspektrometrická měření ukazují u těchto hornin v porovnání s granulitem i serpentinitem vyšší obsahy U a Th, což naznačuje, že nevznikly jejich vzájemnou interakcí. Tomuto zjištění odpovídají i výsledky celohorninových geochemických analýz. Při nich bylo navíc zjištěno významné obohacení studované horniny o další prvky, zejm. Al, Ca a Zr. Rozdíly mezi glimmerity a studovanými horninami mohou být způsobeny například rozdílným protolitem, rozdílnou mírou frakcionace či rozdílným mechanismem taveni protolitu. Studium mafické enklávy uzavřené ve studovaných horninách, její chemické i mineralogické složení pozorované na EMS indikuje, že se jedná o xenolit serpentinitu. Jeho přítomnost je tak důkazem mechanické interakce taveniny s okolním serpentinitem.

Abstract:

The main focus of this study is to determine the petrologic character and the origin of rocks which have been formed at the contact of Náměšť granulite complex with a comparably smaller body of Hrubšice serpentinized peridotite using multiple types of analyses. The results are compared with the study of glimmerite rock as presented by Becker et al. (1999), as these rocks are found in Lower Austria in a very similar geological setting in form of veins penetrating serpentinized peridotites close to their contact with large bodies of granulites. Field gamma spectrometry research shows significantly higher values of U and Th in these rocks in comparison to both granulite and serpentinite, which indicates a more complicated origin rather than a simple magma mixing at the contact. Furthermore, this is seconded by whole-rock geochemical analyses run on the samples, showing their enrichment in various elements, particularly Al, Ca and Zr. Differences between glimmerites and the studied rocks might have been caused by e.g. different protolite, level of fractionation or melting mechanism of protolite. EMS analyses of the mafic enclave as well as its chemical and mineral composition indicate that it originated as a serpentinite xenolite. It is also a proof for magma´s mechanical interaction with serpentinite as a part of its forming process.
