Adaptation of Erasmus + programme incoming students to the Czech university environment

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o adaptaci studentů přijíždějících v rámci programu Erasmus+ na prostředí české univerzity. Cílem práce je vysvětlit, jak se studenti přijíždějící v rámci programu Erasmus+ adaptují na prostředí české univerzity. V teoretické části bude pozornost zaměřena na základní charakteristiky programu Erasmus+ a na jeho cíle. V rámci toho budou nastíněny možné benefity programu ale také obtíže s ním spojené. Další kapitola bude věnována procesu adaptace a jeho specifikům u zahraničních studentů. Nakonec budou představeny aktivity, které podporují adaptaci zahraničních studentů, zejména pak adaptační programy. Empirická část práce se zabývá metodologií výzkumného šetření a představuje průběh výzkumu i proces získávání a zpracování výzkumných dat, následující kapitola pak tato data interpretuje. Zjištění této práce mohou posloužit pro větší náhled do procesu adaptace studentů a zároveň mohou být zprávou pro Masarykovu univerzitu o tom, jak přijíždějící Erasmus+ studenti vnímají univerzitní aktivity a podpůrné nástroje pro ně nabízené.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the adaptation of Erasmus+ programme incoming students to the Czech university environment. The aim of this thesis is to explain how Erasmus+ students adapt to the Czech university environment. The theoretical part will focus on the basic characteristics of the Erasmus+ programme and its objectives. The possible benefits of the programme and the difficulties associated with it will be outlined. The next chapter will be devoted to the adaptation process and its peculiarities for foreign students. Finally, activities that support the adaptation of international students will be presented, in particular adaptation programmes. The empirical part of the thesis deals with the methodology of the investigation and presents the course of the research as well as the process of obtaining and processing the research data. The following chapter then interprets the data. The findings of this thesis can serve to provide greater insight into the process of student adaptation and can also serve as a message to Masaryk University on how incoming students perceive university activities and support tools offered to them.
