Changes in balance sheets of commerciak banks from the start of present crisis in Slovakia

Abstract:

BRNÁK, Norbert, Bc.: Changes in Balance Sheet of Commercial Banks from the Start of Present Crisis in Slovakia. [Diploma theses]. Number of pages: 68 This thesis deals with the analysis of changes in the balance of commercial banks in the current crisis SR. The work is divided into three chapters. The aim of this work is to assess the extent to which and the commercial banks in Slovakia prejudice of the financial crisis on the asset and liabilities of their balance while evaluate the resulting risks for the stability of the banking sector in the future. The first chapter focuses on the theoretical definitions related to the issue of the topic. More detailed definitions are as banking itself, the activities and objectives of the central bank and commercial banks, assets and liabilities of commercial banks and risk management. The second chapter analyzes the impact of crisis on Europe as well as on Slovakia. We define in more detail the banking sector in Slovakia. In the third part we deliver results of the analysis of the impact of crisis bank´s on the balance sheet and also we analyze the individual components of the balance. Diploma thesis contains 14 charts, 2 pictures and 6 tables through which we try to provide own opinion on this problematic.

Počet strán: 68 Diplomová práca sa zaoberá analýzou zmien bilancie komerčných bánk vzniku súčasnej krízy v SR. Práca je rozdelená do troch kapitol. Cieľom práce je posúdiť do akej miery boli a sú komerčné banky na Slovensku dotknuté dôsledkami finančnej krízy na strane aktív a pasív ich bilancie a zároveň zhodnotiť z toho vyplývajúce riziká pre stabilitu bankového sektora do budúcnosti. V prvej kapitole sa zameriavame na teoretické vymedzenie pojmov súvisiacich s danou problematikou. Detailnejšie sú vymedzené pojmy ako bankovníctvo, činnosti a ciele centrálnej banky a komerčných bánk, aktíva a pasíva komerčnej banky a riadenie rizík. Druhá kapitola práce analyzuje dopady krízy tak na Európu ako na samotnom Slovenku. Vymedzili sme si podrobnejšie aj bankový sektor v SR. V tretej časti práce prinášame výsledky vplyvu krízy na bilanciu bankového sektora a tak isto analyzujeme jednotlivé zložky bilancie. Diplomová práca obsahuje 14 grafov, 2 obrázky a 6 tabuliek, prostredníctvom ktorých sme sa snažili prehľadnejšie zobraziť danú problematiku.
