Projekt meaning EDEN for development of travel movement in EU

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na hodnocení vlivu projektu EDEN na cestovní ruch Evropské unie. Práce objasňuje charakteristiky základních pojmů, které se prolínají celým textem – cestovní ruch, destinace cestovního ruchu a udržitelný cestovní ruch. Rovněž je představen politický rámec problematiky cestovního ruchu na úrovni Evropské unie, včetně rolí institucí jako je Evropská komise, Evropský parlament a Rada Evropské unie – v kontextu cestovního ruchu. Dále je představen projekt EDEN, který se zaměřuje na propagaci „netradičních“ tj. málo či podprůměrně navštěvovaných turistických destinací. Každý ročník soutěže EDEN má samostatné téma, jednotlivé ročníky a jejich vítězné destinace ve vybraných sledovaných zemích jsou rovněž v práci představeny, stejně jako hodnotící kritéria pro účast v projektu. Destinace, které jsou hodnoceny v analytické části práce se účastnily ročníku zaměřeného na propagaci Vody jakožto turistického cíle. Hodnoceny byly destinace z ČR, Chorvatska, Slovinska, Malty a Maďarska. Primárně je hodnocen vliv účasti destinace v projektu EDEN na cestovní ruch v dané destinaci. Na základě statistických dat o návštěvnosti vybraných destinací v členských i kandidátských zemích Evropské unie bylo provedeno srovnání vlivu mezi jednotlivými destinacemi. Na podkladě informací teoretických i analytických jsou formulována doporučení pro realizátory z jednotlivých destinací cestovního ruchu, kteří uvažují o účasti v prestižním soutěžním klání.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis focuses on assessing the impact of the project EDEN on tourism in European Union. The work explains the characteristics of the basic concepts that could be found throughout the text – a tourism destination, tourism and sustainable tourism. The text also introduces a policy framework to tourism at EU level, including the role of institutions such as the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union – in the context of tourism. Furthermore the EDEN Project, which aims to promote "non-traditional", it means low-visited or under-visited tourist destinations. Each year of the competition EDEN has its separate topic. Individual years and their winning destinations are also explained in this work for selected countries. As well as evaluation criteria for participation in the project are mentioned. Destinations that are evaluated in the analytical part of the work involved year aimed at promoting water as a target of tourism destination. Evaluated destinations are in the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia, Malta and Hungary. The effect of participation in the project EDEN destination for tourism in the destination ius primarily evaluated. On the basis of statistical data about visitors in selected destinations in member and candidate countries of the European Union, a comparison was made between individual destinations. Recommendations for implementers of the individual tourist destinations who are considering participation in this prestigious event are formulated on the basis of theoretical and analytical information.
