Injustice and the creation of a new state - two faces of Trianon. Main discourses and propaganda in Hungarian and Czechoslovakian press after the treaty of Trianon

Abstract:

This thesis analyzes the Hungarian, Czech and Slovak press immediately after the signing of the Trianon peace treaty. It studies the specimens particullary during the months of June and July. Based upon those it focuses itself on deeper analysis of choosen topics. The thesis follows the rise of discourses in the conteporary newspaper and examines, how the main topics vary and aftewards confronts them with the historical context. It closes up on the chronological side, the personal level, stereotypes and on finding the enemy.

Abstract:

Táto práca sa zaoberá analýzou maďarskej, českej a slovenskej tlače v období tesne po podpísaní Trianonskej mierovej zmluvy. Analyzuje jednotlivé vydania novín v období mesiacov júna a júla, na základe ktorých následne prichádza s hlbším skúmaním vybraných tém. Hľadá zárodky diskurzov v dobových novinách a sleduje, akým spôsobom sa v tomto období témy hýbu a následne ich konfrontuje s historickým kontextom. Bližšie si všíma otázky chronologickej postupnosti, osobnostnej roviny, stereotypizácie a hľadania nepriateľov.
