Mineralogy of calcium oxalate hydrates in plants of the Araceae family

Rostliny z čeledi Araceae mají vysoký obsah hydrátů šťavelanu vápenatého (CaOx). CaOx mohou zastupovat tří různé minerální fáze – monohydrát whewellit, dihydrát weddellit a trihydrát caoxit. Výzkumem výskytu krystalů hydrátů CaOx v 10 vybraných druzích z čeledi Araceae byla určena metodika identifikace CaOx v mikroskopických řezech částí rostlinného těla pomocí Ramanovy spektroskopie. Abstract:
Plants in the Araceae family are high in content of calcium oxalate (CaOx) hydrates. CaOx can be represented by three different mineral phases - whewellite (monohydrate), weddellite (dihydrate) and caoxite (trihydrate).
