The accuracy comparison of ultrasound and optical biometry while stating the optimal dioptric caliber of plastic introocular lens

Abstract:

Autor se v prospektivní studii věnuje srovnání přesnosti optické a ultrazvukové biometrie na podkladě výsledků pooperační subjektivní refrakce (NKZO) a posuzuje míru využití obou měřících metod v současné praxi. Srovnává přesnost vzorců, které na svém pracovišti běžně používá: SRK-II, SRK-T a Haigisova vzorce. Porovnáním výsledků subjektivní refrakce, vyšetřené 3 měsíce a 15 měsíců po operaci, posuzuje stabilitu implantovaných hydrofobních akrylátových čoček v čase. Z hlediska posouzení přesnosti optické a ultrazvukové biometrie jsou obě metody zaměnitelné. Vyšetření metodou optické biometrie je komfortnější a rychlejší. Subjektivní refrakce se díky velmi dobré stabilitě použitých nitroočních čoček v oku s časovým odstupem od operace prakticky nemění.

Abstract:

The author of the study compares accuracy of optical and ultrasound biometry on the basis of postoperative results of subjective refraction (BCVA) and assesses the extent of using both measurement methods in current practice. The study compares accuracy of formulas commonly used at the author’s workplace: SRK-II, SRK-T and Haigis formula. The author assesses stability of implanted hydrophobic acrylic lenses over time by comparing subjective refraction examined 3 and 15 months after surgery. With respect to accuracy assessment of optical and ultrasound biometry, the methods are interchangeable. Examination using optical biometry is more comfortable and faster. Taking into consideration the good stability of intraocular lens in the eye, subjective refraction does not actually change over time.
