The effect of the solution treatment temperature in the hardening process on the properties of Al-Si-Mg alloys

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářská práce je posoudit vliv přídavku hořčíku (ve dvou koncentracích) ve slitině typu Al-Si-Mg na zvýšení tvrdosti a mikrotvrdosti po procesu vytvrzování. Teoretická část bakalářské práce shrnuje základní popis slitin hliníku, binární diagram Al-Si slitin, tepelné zpracování, vytvrzování, tavení a odlévání a zkoušky tvrdosti. Praktická část se věnuje Analýze změn mikrostruktury a mechanických vlastností (tvrdosti a mikrotvrdosti) způsobených vlivem vytvrzování (s různou teplotou rozpouštěcího ohřevu). Předmětem zkoumání byly slitiny AlSiMg0,3 a AlSiMg0,6, které se odlévaly do kovových forem, dále v rámci práce použil proces vytvrzování, který se skládá z rozpouštěcího žíhání, zachlazení do vody a následného umělého stárnutí (označeno jako stav T6). Z odlitků byly vyhotoveny metalografické výbrusy, které byly následně podrobeny analýze mikrostruktury prostřednictvím světelného mikroskopu. Dále bylo na odlitcích realizováno měření tvrdosti podle Brinella a měření mikrotvrdosti podle Vickerse. Z jednotlivých vzorků se zhotovily metalografické výbrusy, na kterých byla zkoumána tvrdost podle Brinella a zkouška mikrotvrdosti podle Vickerse. Posledním krokem bylo pozorování mikrostruktury pomocí světelného mikroskopu. Analýza prostřednictvím světelného mikroskopu se zaměřila na posouzení vlivu procesu vytvrzování na změny v mikrostruktuře.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis aims to assess the effect of magnesium addition (in two concentrations) in stitin type Al-Si-Mg on increasing hardness and micro-hardness after the curing process. The theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis summarizes the basic description of aluminium alloys, the binary diagram of Al-Si alloys, heat treatment, curing, smelting and casting, and hardness tests. The practical part is devoted to analyzing changes in microstructure and mechanical properties (hardness and microhardness) caused by the influence of curing (with different temperature of dissolving heating). The alloys AlSiMg0,3 and AlSiMg0,6, which were poured into metal moulds, are being examined, and as part of the work he used proce hardening, which consists of dissolving annealing, cooling into water and subsequent artificial ageing (T6 status). Metallographic cut-outs were produced from the castings, which were subsequently analysed by microstructure through a light microscope. Furthermore, brinell hardness measurements and Vickers microhardness measurements were made on the castings. The individual samples were made into metallographic skewers on which Brinell's hardness and Vickers' micro-hardness test were examined.
