Diplomová práce se zabývá anglicko-českým překladem vybraných kapitol knihy Memoirs of Geisha od autora Arthura Goldena, a jeho syntaktickou analýzou. Práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních částí. Praktická část obsahuje samotný překlad tří a půl kapitol knihy a teoretická část se zaměřuje na analýzu čtyř vybraných syntaktických struktur. Diploma thesis deals with English-Czech translation of selected chapters from Memoirs of Geisha by Arthur Golden, and its syntactic analysis. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The practical part consists of the translation itself and the theoretical part focuses on analysis of four selected syntactic structures.
