Quality of life of parents in the care of a child with a physical disability

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce na téma "Kvalita života rodičů při péči o dítě s tělesným postižením" se skládá ze dvou částí, a to z teoretické a výzkumné části. Cílem je zjistit, jak sociální práce ovlivňuje každodenní život těchto rodičů, jaké přínosy nebo nedostatky vnímají v poskytovaných službách a jak subjektivně hodnotí svou životní situaci. Výsledky výzkumné části ukázaly, že sociální služby, jako osobní asistence, denní stacionář a odlehčovací služby, výrazně ovlivňují každodenní život rodin. Pomáhají rodičům udržet rovnováhu mezi péčí o dítě a osobním životem, což jim umožňuje pracovat nebo odpočinout. Problémy však nastávají, když jsou služby nedostupné nebo finančně náročné. I když rodiče čelí sociální izolaci a stresu, uvědomují si, že bez těchto služeb by byla jejich situace ještě náročnější. Vnímání kvality života rodičů je tedy silně závislé na dostupnosti a kvalitě sociálních služeb.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis on the topic "Quality of life of parents in the care of a child with a physical disability" consists of two parts, a theoretical and a research part. The aim is to find out how social work affects the everyday life of these parents, what benefits or shortcomings they perceive in the services provided and how they subjectively evaluate their life situation. The results of the research part showed that social services, such as personal assistance, day care and respite services, significantly influence the everyday life of families. They help parents to maintain a balance between childcare and personal life, allowing them to work or rest. However, problems arise when services are unavailable or costly. Even when parents face social isolation and stress, they realise that without these services their situation would be even more challenging. Thus, parents perceptions of quality of life are strongly dependent on the availability and quality of social services.
