Analysis of high-speed records of vocal cords oscillations

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá zpracováním a hodnocením obrazových záznamů pohybu hlasivek, které byly pořízeny vysokorychlostní kamerou. Použitím navržených metod zpracování obrazových dat a postupů je detekována hlasivková štěrbina a automatickou metodou vypočítána osa symetrie hlasivek. Byl navržen soubor parametrů, který je charakteristický pro chování hlasivek během jejich otevírání a uzavírání. Tyto parametry budou po další analýze a vyhodnocení použity v rámci včasné diagnostiky onemocnění hlasivek.

Abstract:

This work is about finding a reliable method for detection of the vocal cords gap in high speed video sequences and defining a set of parameters to improve diagnosis of damaged vocal cords. Principle of the detection consists in localization of a region of interest and in finding a threshold value for the gap segmentation. Main objective is to get maximal number of parameters available from the high speed video records, which can be further used for an early detection of vocal cord problems. Parameters in question, such as size of the gap area, length of the perimeter or the center point movement are provided by the software which was developed for this purpose. The application allows automatic evaluation of parameters in most cases but manual adjustment is available as well. Results are stored in text files which can be easily imported into spreadsheets. The program extends capability of the standard software provided by the high speed camera manufacturer.
