Feminization in Canada: Between usage and norm

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis is about the language feminization of French in the Francophone environment of Canada. The first theoretical part describes the history of feminism, particularly where feminism arose, and the position of the woman in the Canadian society and three waves of feminism. The following part focuses on the linguistic and the grammatical point of view. The aim of the practical part was to discover how or whether the language feminization is used nowadays.In our research, we have chosen 180 work advertisements from three official Canadian websites.At the end, we compared the results of our research and we represented them by charts and graphically.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá jazykovou feminizací francouzského jazyka ve frankofonním prostředí Kanady. První teoretická část popisuje historii feminismu, především to, kde feminismus vznikl, postavení ženy v kanadské společnosti a tři vlny feminismu. Poté následuje část, která se zaměřuje na feminizaci z lingvistického a gramatického pohledu.Cílem praktické části bylo zjistit, jakým způsobem a jestli se skutečně jazyková feminizace využívá v současné době. V našem výzkumu jsme si vybrali 180 pracovních inzerátu ze tří oficiálních kanadských internetových stránek.Na konci jsme výsledky řešení dané problematiky mezi sebou porovnali a znázornili tabulkami a graficky.
