Předkládaná diplomová práce se snaží o popsání vzniku a vývoje kovářského řemesla v dobách starověku až do doby ranného středověku a srovnání pracovních postupů a nástrojů s dnešní moderní dobou. V další části se věnuje archeologické lokalitě Znojmu – Hradišti a nalezeným exemplářům nožů. Na základě jejich popisu je vytvořena jejich typologie. The presented diploma thesis tries to describe the emergence and development of blacksmith craft in ancient times until the early Middle Ages and comparison working practices and tools with today´s modern times.
