Stress (psychical and psychological) monitoring of ice hockey referees in Extraleague and I.league

Abstract:

Práce je věnována problematice monitoringu pohybového a psychického zatížení rozhodčích 1. Ligy a Extraligy ledního hokeje. Klade si za cíl zmapovat rozdíly v zatížení hlavních rozhodčích těchto dvou soutěží pomocí provedeného monitoringu srdeční frekvence, dotazníkového a testového šetření. Práce má strukturu teoreticko-empiricky zaměřené práce. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na historické změny v hokeji a řízení utkání, krátce se zmiňuje o současné charakteristice hry, pravidlech, systému řízení utkání hlavními rozhodčími a současné situaci v České republice. Pozornost je věnována rovněž základním aspektům pohybového a psychického zatížení. Empirická část práce prezentuje výsledky výzkumného šetření, které provedl její pisatel ve spolupráci s rozhodčími extraligy a první ligy ledního hokeje. Popisuje přípravu šetření, použité metody, zkoumaný vzorek a prezentuje získané výsledky. Dotazníkové a testové šetření se orientuje na názory rozhodčích a jejich praktické zkušenosti. V závěru práce je prezentován i vlastní názor pisatele.

Abstract:

This thesis paper focuses on conducting monitoring of physical and mental strain levels of the referees in the Czech ice-hockey First League and Extra League. Its aim is to map strain level differences which the referees in these two tournaments experience. This is carried out by means of monitoring heart rate, conducting questionnaires and tests. The thesis has a theoretical-empirical framework. The theoretical part deals with the changes in hockey throughout history. It also concentates on hockey match supervision. Furthermore, it renders some brief information about present-day hockey characteristics and rules, together with the system of referee supervision and the current situation of the Czech hockey. It also studies the main aspects of motoric and mental strain levels. The empirical part of this thesis paper presents the results of the survey conducted in cooperation with First League and Extra League ice-hockey referees. It describes survey preparation, methods used, sample respondents and survey results. Questionnaires and tests aim at referees´ opinions and their practical experience. In conclusion, the paper presents the personal opinion of the person conducting the survey.
