Quality of life of patients after kidney transplantation

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit míru kvality života pacientů po transplantaci ledvin a porovnat ji s kvalitou života pacientů hemodialyzovaných na pracovištích ve Fakultní nemocnici Ostrava. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 126 respondentů ? 81 respondentů bylo po transplantaci ledviny a 45 v chronickém dialyzačním programu. Výzkumné šetření bylo realizováno od dubna do listopadu 2015. Pro měření kvality života byl použit standardizovaný dotazník WHOQOL-BREF, který hodnotí kvalitu života ve čtyřech doménách a ve dvou samostatných položkách. Výsledky: Výsledky výzkumu dokazují, že pacienti po transplantaci ledviny vnímají kvalitu svého života významně lépe než respondenti v chronickém dialyzačním programu a to téměř ve všech sledovaných oblastech. Přes značný přínos transplantační terapie tito pacienti nedosahují úrovně kvality života v doméně fyzického zdraví jak běžná populace. Ve srovnání kvality života nemocných v dialyzačním programu s populační normou dokazuje, že dialýza negativně ovlivňuje kvalitu života. Vliv pohlaví a věku na kvalitu života se nedokázalo prokázat.

Abstract:

Aim: The aim of the masters thesis was to determine the index of quality of life of patients after kidney transplantation, and compare it with the quality of life of patients on hemodialysis st workplaces in the University Hospital in Ostrava. Method: The research file comprised of 126 respondents ? 81 respondents were after kidney transplantation and 45 in chronic dialysis program. The reach was realised from April to November, 2015. For meansuring the quality of life was used a standardized questionnaire WHOQOL-BREF, which evalues the quality of life in four domains and in two separe items. Results: The results of research show the renal transplant patients perceive their quality of life significantly better then respondents in chronic dialysis program in almost all monitored areas. Despite the considerable benefit of transplatation therapy, these patients achieve the level of quality of life in the domain physical health as the healthy population. Compared the quality of life in patients on dialysis with population standard proves that dialysis significantly adsersely affects quality of life. The influence of gender and age on the quality of life they could not prove.
