Problems of teaching Czech language to Arabic speakers

Abstract:

Předmětem magisterské diplomové práce jsou problémy výuky českého jazyka pro arabské rodilé mluvčí. První část se zabývá českým jazykem z pohledu arabského mluvčího, především klasifikací obou jazyků, morfologickou typologií, českou a arabskou abecedou, fonetickou a fonologickou stránkou jazyka, gramatickou stránkou, rozvrstvením češtiny a jejím pravopisem. V druhé části zanalyzuji tuzemské učebnice češtiny pro cizince a pokusím se zjistit, jaké jsou jejich nedostatky. V třetí části se zaměřuji na analýzu chyb, kterých se arabští mluvčí dopustili v psaném projevu. Výzkum budu provádět mezi učiteli oboru Český jazyk a literatura na Filozofické fakultě univerzity Ain Shams v Káhiře. Nakonec se diplomová práce snaží zachytit důvody vzniku těchto chyb na základě komparace češtiny s arabštinou. Praktickým výstupem práce bude krátký text, který se zaměřuje na vysvětlení českého systému pádů a bude určen pro arabské studenty

Abstract:

The subject of the master's thesis deals with the problematics of learning of the Czech language for the Arabic language native speakers. In the first part it describes the Czech language from the point of view of the Arabic speaker, focusing mainly on the classification of both languages, morphological typology, the Czech and the Arabic alphabets, phonetics, and phonology, grammar, stylistic differentiation of the Czech language and its orthography. In the second part I will analyse Czech textbooks for foreigners, and I will try to describe what they lack. In the third part, I focus on the analysis of the errors made by Arabic speakers in written speech. I will conduct the research among teachers of Czech language and literature at the Faculty of Arts of Ain Shams University in Cairo. Finally, the thesis tries to capture the reasons of these errors based on a comparison of Czech with Arabic. The practical output of the work will be a short text, which will be designed for Arab students. The text will focus on explaining the Czech system of declension.
