The aim of the thesis is to help the reader understand the roots of racism that led to the riots in LA in 1992 and the more recent riots in Ferguson in 2014. The first chapter introduces three factors that have contributed to the overall social and economic situation of African Americans housing, education, and employment. Cílem této práce je pomoct čtenáři porozumět původu rasizmu, který vedl k rozpoutání nepokojů v LA v roce 1992 a nedávným nepokojům ve Fergusonu v roce 2014. První kapitola představí tři klíčové faktory, jmenovitě bydlení, vzdělávání a zaměstnání, které přispěly k celkové sociální a ekonomické situaci Afro-Američanů.
