The Evolution of Mural Art

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vývojem moderního mural artu, od fenoménu graffiti, street artu, až po obrovský mural. První kapitola obsahuje slovník s českými výrazy graffiti subkultury. Druhá kapitola se detailně zaměřuje na vymezení pojmů pouličního umění. Třetí kapitola zprvu obecně popisuje vznik graffiti kultury spolu s jejím rozšířením, další část je věnována aktuálně vlivným světovým muralistům. Poměrně velký prostor věnuji vývoji tohoto umění na české scéně a speciálně v Moravskoslezském kraji. Zde sleduji nejen vývoj, ale také aktivity zdejších umělců a jejich názory. Praktická část popisuje zejména postup při tvorbě vizualizací a následné aplikace motivů na betonovou, brizolitovou minerální omítku, která je součástí autobusové zastávky Nová Bělá, Pod Kopcem.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis concerns with the evolution of modern mural art. It deals from the phenomenon of graffiti to a huge mural. The first chapter includes a vocabulary with czech words for the graffiti subculture. The second chapter is focused on dividing street art in detail. The third chapter describes the emergence of graffiti in general with its expansion at first. The next part is dedicated to world actually influential muralist. A relatively large space is devoted to the development this art on the czech scene, especially with emphasis to moravian-silesian region. Here, I examine a progression and activities of local artists, thanks to interviews with them. The practical part is based on the description of making visualizations and then application to the concrete coat. It is the installation of a colored mineral plaster on the bus stop, which is called Nova Bela, Pod Kopcem.
