Křečové žíly jsou ve vyspělých zemích nejčastějším cévním onemocněním. Řadí se k civilizačním chorobám. Je to závažné onemocnění, které není jen problémem kosmetickým a psychologickým, je prvním příznakem žilního onemocnění. Tato nemoc postihuje pouze jedince lidské populace, u zvířat se nevyskytuje. Varicose veins are the most common vascular disease in developed countries. It belongs to civilization diseases. It is a serious illness that is not just a cosmetic and psychological problem, it is the first sign of venous disease.
