The position of the governess in the 19th century England

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the position of women emloyed as governesses in the Victorian England. In the practical part of the thesis, the established information is compared, applying the Feminist literary approach, with examples from the two selected novels written by 19th century English women writers - from Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë and her sister's - Anne Brontë's novel called Agnes Grey

Abstract:

Práce je zaměřena na pozici žen, které vykonávaly profesi guvernantek ve viktoriánské Anglii. Zjištěné poznatky jsou v praktické části práce, za pomocí feministické literární kritiky, porovnány s příklady ze dvou vybraných děl anglických spisovatelek 19. století - konkrétně z knihy Jane Eyrová, jejíž autorkou je Charlotte Brontë, a z románu její sestry Anne Brontë, s názvem Agnes Greyová.
