Teachers' nonverbal behavior patterns in the classroom

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem Styly neverbálního chování učitelů ve vyučování se zabývá problematikou neverbální komunikace v prostředí školní třídy. Zaměřuje se především na reálnou podobu neverbálních projevů a signálů, které učitelé ve vyučovacích hodinách vysílají. Rovněž se věnuje provázanosti neverbální komunikace učitele, jeho způsobu vedení hodiny a přístupu k žákům. Realizované výzkumné šetření zjišťovalo konkrétní neverbální projevy učitelů v rámci čtyř forem neverbální komunikace – gestiky, posturologie, haptiky a proxemiky, přístup učitelů k žákům či jejich interakční styl. Zároveň bylo cílem práce postihnout určité pravidelnosti či existující vazby mezi sledovanými kategoriemi neverbální komunikace.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis named Teachers´ nonverbal behavior patterns in the classroom discusses the issues of non-verbal communication in the school environment. It focuses primarily on the actual character of non-verbal displays and the signals teachers transmit during classes. It further explores the interconnectedness of a teacher’s non-verbal communication, his class leading strategy and his attitudes toward the pupils. The conducted research investigates the concrete non-verbal displays of teachers in terms of four forms of non-verbal communication – gestures, posturology, haptics and proxemics, the attitudes of teachers toward the pupils, and their interaction style. Furthermore, the aim of the thesis is to reveal some regular patterns and existing ties among the observed categories of non-verbal communication.
