Transgender child in primary school in the context of classroom and school climate

Abstract:

Diplomová práce pojednává o problematice transgenderu v kontextu školské inkluze a v kontextu potřeby bezpečného třídního a školního klimatu, pro proces inkluze tolik zásadních. Na základě analýzy odborných zahraničních a tuzemských zdrojů uvádí do problematiky transgenderu a do procesu inkluze dětí s touto jinakostí ve školním prostředí. Klade si za cíl přinést školním poradenským pracovníkům a všem ostatním pedagogům poznatky pro práci s transgender dítětem, přičemž se zaměřuje jak na obecné informace o transgender jedincích, tak na jejich specifika. Pro dosažení úspěšného procesu inkluze těchto dětí do školního prostředí práce zdůvodňuje důležitost existence bezpečného třídního klimatu pro zdravý rozvoj osobnosti transgender dítěte, potažmo každého dítěte v průběhu školní docházky. Práce obsahuje rozsáhlou přehledovou studii zahraničních i tuzemských výzkumů zabývajících se právě problematikou dětí s transgenderem a tématy s ní úzce souvisejícími, jako jsou třídní a školní klima, homofobie, šikana, vztahy mezi učiteli a žáky, vztahy v rámci vrstevnické skupiny. V práci jsou popsány strategie, které napomáhají k vytváření bezpečného třídního a školního klimatu. Je zde detailněji popsána klíčová úloha školního poradenského pracoviště v tomto procesu. Výzkumná část je výzkumným šetřením, které se zaměřuje na konkrétní proces začleňování transgender dítěte do třídního kolektivu jako součásti školního prostředí, a jehož cílem je popsat a představit strategie školy, které jsou nastavené pro tento proces.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of transgender in the context of school inclusion and in the context of the need for a safe classroom and school climate, so much important for the inclusion process. Based on an analysis of professional foreign and domestic sources, it introduces the issue of transgender and the process of inclusion of children with this difference in the school environment. It aims to provide school counselors and all other educators with the knowledge of working with a transgender child, focusing on both general information on transgender individuals and their specifics. In order to achieve a successful process of inclusion of these children into the school environment, the work justifies the importance of having a safe class climate for the healthy development of the transgender child personality, or each child during their schooling. The work contains an extensive survey of foreign and domestic researches dealing with the issue of children with transgender and topics closely related to it, such as class and school climate, homophobia, bullying, relations between teachers and students, relationships within the peer group. The thesis describes strategies that help to create a safe class and school climate. The key role of the school counseling center in this process is described in more detail. The research part is a research that focuses on the specific process of integrating a transgender child into the classroom as a part of the school environment and aims to describe and present the school strategies that are set for this process.
