Chemical synthesis and characterization of nickel nanoparticles

Abstract:

Uvedená bakalářská práce se zabývá chemickou syntézou nanočástic niklu a jejich chemickou, fázovou, morfologickou a magnetickou charakterizací. Syntéza byla in-spirována postupy nalezenými v literatuře a následně byla optimalizována. Jako hlavní prekurzor byl použit bisacetylacetonato nikelnatý komplex, jako rozpouštědla sloužily oleyamin a oktadecen. TOP nebo TOPO byly použity jako surfaktant. Přidání všech látek do syntézy probíhalo metodou one-pot, čas syntézy byl stanoven podle literatury na 10 minut a teplota byla z počátku nastavená podle literatury a dále byla upravovaná. Po syntéze následovala analýza nanočástic, zejména měření jejich veli-kosti a morfologie pomocí transmisní elektronové mikroskopie (TEM). Dále byla provedena fázová analýza pomocí práškové rentgenové krystalografie, a nakonec byly analyzovány magnetické vlastnosti pomocí vibrační magnetometrie (VSM).

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis describes the chemical synthesis of nickel nanoparticles and their chemical, phase, morphological and magnetic characterization. The synthesis was inspired by methods found in the literature and was subsequently optimized. Nickel(II) bis(acetylacetonate) was used as the main precursor, oleylamine and oc-tadecene were used as solvents. TOP and TOPO were used as a surfactant. All sub-stances were added to the synthesis by the one-pot method, the synthesis time was set according to the literature at 10 minutes and the temperature was initially set according to the literature and further adjusted. The synthesis was followed by an analysis of nanoparticles, especially measurement of their size and morphology us-ing transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Phase analysis was performed by powder X-ray crystallography, and finally, magnetic properties were analyzed by vi-brating sample magnetometry (VSM).
