Nonautonomous dynamical systems and their applications

Abstract:

Tato práce se věnuje problematice neautonomních růstových modelů. Nejprve je nad příklady neautonomních jevů rozebráno, proč a za jakých podmínek může být přínosné uvažovat růstový model s parametry závislými na čase. Dále je v práci stručně představen Verhulstův model logistického růstu a jsou zavedeny dvě jeho neautonomní obdoby. První ze zavedených modelů se liší od standardního logistického růstu v neautonomním růstovém parametru. Druhý se liší v neautonomním parametru nosné kapacity prostředí. V práci je zkoumán vliv časové závislosti jednotlivých parametrů a kvalitativní i kvantitativní vlastnosti obou variant standardního modelu. Jednotlivé neautonomní modely jsou následně srovnány s jejich autonomní předlohou. Na závěr jsou diskutovány alternativní přístupy k problematice modelování neautonomních jevů společně s nedostatky, možnostmi pokračování a prostorem k vylepšení této práce.

Abstract:

This thesis targets the topic of non-autonomous growth models. Firstly, with consideration of several examples of non-autonomous phenomena, it is explained why and under what circumstances it could be beneficial to consider a growth model with time-dependent parameters. Additionally, Verhulst's model of logistic growth is briefly introduced along with its two analogous non-autonomous variants. First of these variants differs from standard logistic growth in non-autonomous growth parameter. Second variant differs in non-autonomous environmental carrying capacity parameter. The thesis looks into the influence of time-dependence of individual parameters. It also examines qualitative and quantitative aspects of both variants of the standard model. Individual models are then compared with their autonomous counterpart. Lastly, alternative approaches to the topic of modelling non-autonomous phenomena are discussed along with the thesis, drawbacks and possibilities for further directions and improvement.
