Abstract:
Tato diplomová práce zkoumá vzájemný vztah mezi díly autorů tzv. Americké renesance (Herman Melville, Nathaniel Hawthorne a Edgar Allan Poe) a současnými autory, kteří využívají ve svých dílech žánru metafyzického detektivního příběhu (Paul Auster, Thomas Pynchon, Don DeLillo). Práce se soustředí zejména na motiv labyrintu, pohřešované osoby, dvojí identity a poraženého detektiva.Abstract:
The thesis explores the links between the works of 19th century American writers (Herman Melville, Nathaniel Hawthorne and Edgar Allan Poe) and writers who use the genre of the metaphysical detective story such as Paul Auster, Thomas Pynchon and Don DeLillo. The main focus is on the motif of the labyrinth, the missing person, the double identity and the defeated detective.
