Germs and atavisms in human population

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje tématu rudimentů a atavismů v lidské populaci. Obsahuje mimo seznam vybraných případů začleněných do těchto dvou skupin i jejich obecnou charakteristiku a historii této problematiky. Popisuje vznik a vývoj znaků v prenatálním období, jejich fenotypový projev v postnatálním životě, případně jeho možné varianty, a význam, jenž tyto struktury v průběhu evoluce u člověka ztratily, avšak u jiných živočichů byl mnohdy podstatný.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is concerning the topic of rudiments and atavisms in the human population. It consists of a list of selected cases included in abovementioned two groups, their general characteristics and the history of this topic. This thesis describes the origin and evolution of signatures in the prenatal age, their fenotypes expressions in postnatal life, concerning later variants, and the value that these structures have lost throughout the evolution of a man even though at different animal species these structures were rather often found to be important.
