The Assessment of Babí lom Area Using the "Geosites/Geomorphosites" Methodology

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá hodnocením významných geomorfologických lokalit v okolí skalnatého vrchu Babího lomu v Adamovské vrchovině severně od Brna. V rámci zájmového území je identifikováno a podrobně popsáno celkem deset geomorfologických lokalit, pro jejichž zhodnocení je využita metodika geomorphosites. Mezi zvolené lokality patří nejen jednotlivé části výrazného hřebene Babího lomu, ale například i lesní prameniště nebo balvanové proudy, jejichž geomorfologický význam není v současnosti zcela doceněn. Důležitým posláním této práce je proto připomenout tyto opomíjené lokality a upozornit jak na jejich hodnoty, tak i na jejich zranitelnost. Na základě hodnocení jednotlivých lokalit je následně souhrnně zhodnoceno i celé zájmové území a jsou pro něj navrhnuta zlepšení v oblasti jeho využití, managementu i ochrany.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of significant geomorphological sites around the rocky hill of Babí lom in the Adamovská vrchovina Highland north of Brno. Within the area of interest, ten geomorphological sites are identified and described in detail. The methodology of geomorphosites is used for their assessment. The selected sites include not only individual parts of the distinctive ridge of Babí lom, but also, for example, forest springs or boulder streams, the geomorphological significance of which is currently not fully appreciated. An important aim of this thesis is to remind these overlooked localities and point out both their values and their vulnerability. Based on the assessment of individual sites, the entire area of interest is then assessed in summary and improvements in its use, management and protection are proposed.
