Role of financial reward in the motivation of short-term employment

Abstract:

Práce si dává za cíl zjistit, jakou roli hraje finanční odměna v motivaci pracovníků u krátkodobých pracovních poměrů. Pomocí literární rešerše nejrůznějších motivačních teorií podává základ modernímu přístupu k motivaci, popisuje dnešní generaci studentů a poukazuje na aktuální trendy na českém trhu práce. Výsledkem rešerše je návrh dotazníkového šetření, kde se na základě motivačních typů respondentů ukazuje, jakou roli peníze v motivaci brigádníků opravdu mají, a zda jsou hlavním faktorem, který motivuje mladé k práci. Výsledky práce indikují, že více než 90 % respondentů je motivováno spíše vnitřními impulsy než vnějšími, a 60 % respondentů dává přednost brigádám, které jim dají více, než pouze finanční odměnu. Práce končí doporučením pro zaměstnavatele, jak nastavit motivační systém a jakou roli v něm dávat mzdě. Práce má charakter kvalitativního výzkumu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis aims to find out what role has the financial reward in the motivation of short-term employees. Based on the literary research of various motivational theories, it provides the basis for a modern approach to motivation, describes today's generation of students and shows the current trends on the Czech labour market. The result of the research is a proposal of a survey where, based on motivational types of respondents, it shows what role money really has in the motivation of short-term employees and whether it is the main factor motivating young people to work. The results of this thesis indicate that more than 90% of the respondents are motivated by internal impulses rather than external ones, and 60% of the respondents prefer temporary jobs that give them more than just financial reward. The bachelor thesis ends with a recommendation for employers how to set up a motivation system and what role should the reward play in it. The thesis has the character of qualitative research.
