Financial derivatives as a tool to ensure

Abstract:

Thesis "Financial derivatives as an instrument of security" describes the origin, historical development and classification of financial derivatives, focusing on the options and possibilities of their use to control risk. The work is divided into four sections that follow each other chronologically. It offers a brief description of the development, the grounds of financial derivatives and their basic classification. The thesis is focused on the characteristics of options, their classification and valuation. The first and the second chapter is mainly of theoretical nature. It deals with the very possibilities of the use of option strategies by which we can get ensured against potential loss. It also includes the reasons of the financial crisis and its impact on trading with financial derivatives. It points to the need of monitoring volatility, the most important part of the optional trading, which affects the price of options. There are four model examples which highlight the importance of the use of option strategies as a tool to get ensured against the potential risk with the aim to achieve the highest possible profit.

Diplomová práca „Finančné deriváty ako nástroj zabezpečenia“ opisuje vznik, historický vývoj a členenie finančných derivátov so zameraním na opcie a možnosti ich využitia na tlmenie rizika. Práca je rozdelené na štyri časti, ktoré chronologicky na seba nadväzujú. Ponúka krátky opis vývoja, dôvody vzniku finančných derivátov a ich základné členenie. Diplomová práca je zameraná na charakteristiku opcií, ich členeniu a oceňovaniu. Prvá a druhá kapitola má prevažne teoretický charakter. Zaoberá sa samotnými možnosťami využitia opčných stratégii, pomocou ktorých sa môžeme zabezpečiť pred potenciálnou stratou. Obsahuje aj dôvody vzniku finančnej krízy a jej dopady na obchodovanie s finančnými derivátmi. Poukazuje na nutnosť sledovania volatility, najdôležitejšej časti opčného obchodovania, ktorá ovplyvňuje cenu opcií. Nachádzajú sa v nej štyri modelové príklady, pomocou ktorých sa poukazuje na význam využitia opčných stratégii ako nástroj zabezpečenia sa pred možným rizikom s cieľom dosiahnutia čo najvyššieho možného zisku.
