Masculinity and femininity in interpersonal relationships

Abstract:

The thesis entitled Masculinity and Femininity in Interpersonal relationships is focused on the area of gender, determining the differences and relationships between gender types (masculine, feminine and androgynous type) and the categories interpersonal behavior defined by T. Leary in his Interpersonal Diagnosis of Personality questionnaire (ICL) concerning university students. The theoretical part of my thesis deals with the definition of the concept of gender in different contexts. Also, are defined various categories of gender, their development and gender stereotypes in interpersonal relationships. The research part is focused on detecting the existence of the relationship between the categories of interpersonal behavior as measured by questionnaire ICL and gender types of respondents in relation and without relation to their gender to gender stereotypes. Gender types are surveyed by a questionnaire BSRI (Bem Sex Role Inventory). The results of the research are processed by statistical methods. The end of the thesis I evaluated the relationship between categories of interpersonal behavior and gender types of respondetov in relation to gender stereotypes. In my thesis I want to point out if and how in the interpersonal relationships show gender stereotypes, due to long-term influence of the society.

Abstract:

Moja práca s názvom Maskulinita a feminita v medziľudských vzťahoch sa zameriava na oblasť genderu, zisťovanie rozdielov a vzťahov medzi genderovými typmi (maskulínny, femínny a androgýnny typ) a kategóriami interpersonálneho správania vymedzenými T. Learym v jeho Dotazníku interpersonálnej diagnózy (ICL) u vysokoškolských študentov. V teoretickej časti môjho príspevku sa venujem vysvetlením pojmu gender v rôznych kontextoch. Taktiež vymedzeniu jednotlivých kategórií genderu, jeho vývoja a stereotypom v interpersonálnych vzťahoch. Výskumná časť je zameraná na zisťovanie existencie vzťahu medzi jednotlivými kategóriami interpersonálneho správania meranými pomocou dotazníku ICL a genderovými typmi respondentov vo vzťahu k genderovým stereotypom vo vzťahu i bez vzťahu k ich pohlaviu. Genderové typy sú zisťované pomocou dotazníka BSRI (Bem Sex Role Inventory). Výsledky výskumnej časti boli spracované pomocou štatistických metód. V závere príspevku vyhodnocujem vzťah medzi kategóriami interpersonálneho správania a genderovými typmi respondentov vo väzbe k genderovým stereotypom. V mojej práci chcem poukázať na to či a ako sa v medziľudských vzťahoch prejavujú genderové stereotypy, dlhodobým vplyvom spoločnosti.
